Frequently Asked Questions
You are unique and your concerns might be different, but for most clients, we work together to regulate emotions, process traumatic memories using CBT, EMDR, a combination of both, or other approaches. We also explore and work through ways trauma has impacted your life and learn how to make meaning beyond trauma that leads to wholeness and healing. You can rest assured that your treatment will be tailored to your specific needs.
Other therapy approaches used include: solution-focused therapy, parts work (based on Internal Family Systems), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and psychoanalytic approaches.

The fee for individual therapy is $135 per 50-minute session. Longer sessions are available upon request. We also offer limited sliding scale slots when available depending on your financial needs, if you require a reduced fee, please contact us to inquire about current sliding scale availability.
Presently, we are in network with United Healthcare/Optum, Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, and others. Please reach out to inquire if we accept your insurance. Should you opt to use insurance, we will verify coverage before proceeding with a full session. Please directly contact your insurance provider to confirm coinsurance and copayment details as well.
If we do not accept your insurance or you prefer to not use insurance you will be provided with a monthly Superbill, which is a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits if you choose to do so.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?
On average, clients work with me anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. However, this is highly dependent on your needs, concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

How do I choose the right therapist?
Finding a good fit is important; not everyone aligns, and that's perfectly fine. Should we not be the right fit, we're happy to assist you in connecting with a therapist who is. Factors to consider include specialization: does the therapist possess the experience, certifications, and training in addressing your specific needs and concerns? Also, consider whether trust can be cultivated and you feel at ease opening up. Write down questions you might have and ask them during initial consultations.
What are your policies regarding cancellations and no-shows?
Please ensure you provide us with a 48-hour cancellation notice before your scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will result in full session fee charges, as holding your spot prevents another client from scheduling in that slot. You can choose to activate appointment reminders to help you stay informed about your sessions and to allow enough time for cancellations if necessary. We do recognize that emergencies and unforeseen events may arise, and we assess them case by case. Please note that late cancel and no-show fees are your responsibility and are not covered by insurance.
